Rumor has it that a pump track will be built as part of a mountain bike park that will be built in Eagle Mountain. What is a pump track? I had been told about pump tracks but never actually saw one. So I did a search on YouTube. Hey this looks fun!

Pump tracks are mountain biking tracks designed to where you don't pedal your bike but "pump" your bikes over hills, dips, jumps and corners. The best bicycle for a pump track is a good hardtail bike.

So, my spontaneous character took over and I started building my own. Today was not the best day weather wise for such a project but I did get about half of a track roughed out. Here are the pictures:

Can't see the track because of the snow? Then you try digging a pump track while three inch snow flakes are falling.

Day 2

The sun came out today making it a much better day to work on the track. I decided that it was going to be pretty hard to pump all the way from the bottom to the top of the track, so I spent most of the day digging the upper corner down. It is now a couple of feet lower than it was. Next I will need to adjust the bumps to brind them down to the new level of the top. New pictures:

Day 3

I was planning on only working on the track for an hour or so this morning, but then when I went out to take pictures of the day's progress I ended up doing a lot more digging. So I now have all of the sage brush cleared out of the way and I have started the rollers on the diagonal section. I think I will need to lower the top part of the track another foot or so. The nice thing though is I dug out the big rocks and the next layer of dirt is gravelly and should be easier to dig.

Day 4

I think the level of the top corner is good now. I moved a bunch of dirt from the top corner to make the bank for the bottom corner. The pump track is going well, but I am getting frustrated with problems with getting the building for my store built. Looks like I will be openning in Eagle Mountain first, and then moving to Saratoga Springs. Anyway here is today's picture:
